Q: What does the ITC do?
A: The ITC (Instructional Technology Center) is a faculty lab devoted to using technology to enhance teaching and learning. We conduct workshops, create tutorials, and provide general technological consulting for YSU faculty. We also provide technical support for WebCT CE for students and faculty.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment to use the ITC?
A: It's not required for simple consulting, but recommended to make sure we are not conducting a workshop or busy assisting other faculty. However, appointments are required for on-demand workshops. The ITC's contact information is posted here.
Q: Where is the ITC located?
A: Room 4303 on the fourth floor of the Beeghly College of Education.

A: No. The ITC is a resource for YSU faculty. There is a student lab on the first floor of Beeghly.

Q: Do I need my Zenworks ID and password to use the workstations in the ITC?
A: Yes. They are the same as your YSU e-mail ID and password. If you need help, contact the Tech Desk.
Q: What is WebCT CE?
A: WebCT CE is online course management software currently used by YSU. It allows instuctors to create online course material in a secure environment.

Q: How do I use WebCT?
A: The ITC offers a number of scheduled and on-demand courses dealing with WebCT CE.
Q: How do I register for a workshop?
A: Workshop registration for the Spring 2007 semester can be found here. A complete listing of scheduled workshops is located here. On-demand workshops are by appointment only.
Q: Where are workshops conducted?
A: All workshops are conducted in the ITC lab, which is in room 4303 in the Beeghly College of Education.
Q: Due to my teaching schedule, I cannot attend the scheduled workshops, but I would still like to learn about WebCT (or any other workshop topic).
A: You can make an appointment for a one-on-one version of the workshops.
Q: Does the ITC provide in-depth technical support for hardware and software?
A: For liability purposes, the ITC cannot provide in-depth technical support (i.e. reformatting hard drives, installing and configuring software, installing hardware, etc...). Please contact the Tech Desk.
Q: Can I bring in works to be duplicated or digitized?
A: Due to copyright issues, those projects must be taken on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the ITC for further information.
Q: Can you recommend a good computer to purchase?
